Produce at The Welbeck Farm Shop
Beef
The majority of beef we sell comes from Richard Bower who's farm is situated behind Cuckney cricket club as you travel down the A60. Richard's family have been farming on the estate for over 60 years and Richard has been a beef man all his life. His herd are all single suckled as calves to give them a good start in life and are hand picked by Richard himself before going through the local abattoir and coming to us. We hang his beef for as long as possible to guarantee a full flavour and the tenderness that has been missing in British beef for so long. Richard's cows are all fed locally produced food themselves, so every part of them will definitely be Welbeck through and through.
Cheese
Welbeck has developed the first organic raw milk blue cheese produced in Britain since the late 1960s, Stichelton.
Our king of cheese is Joe Schneider who is up at the dairy where the milk is piped straight from the cows to his cheese rooms where the magic happens. The cheese from the shop is sourced in conjunction with the Neal's Yard dairy, who are widely recognised as the best cheese retailers in the country. Their founder and still very active owner is Randolph Hodgson, who regularly visits us and advises us on his favourite cheeses at certain times of the year, yet we always try to stock a variety of local cheeses as well.

Game
Welbeck has always been a country sporting estate and nearly all of the game you find in the shop will have come from Welbeck itself. Our rabbits have always flourished much to the annoyance of the gamekeepers, and the venison from our deer park has always been my favourite of all estate produce. Beware whilst chewing though as the occasional lead pellet may be lurking!
Vegetables
We work in cooperation with as many local farmers as possible to source as much fruit and veg as locally as we can. Our potatoes are produced from a variety of sources, locally. Not all of our greengrocery items can be locally sourced at all times of year, yet when we can your plums will be from my garden, your berries from our bushes and your apples from our trees.
Eggs
All of the eggs that we stock are locally sourced free range eggs. We also try and source varieties of eggs such as Duck Eggs, check with the shop for details.
Pies
Our pork pies are made locally with much love care and affection to our own recipes. On the right you can see one topped with delicious Stichelton Cheese.
Aside from the usual pies such as steak, chicken and mushroom and traditional pork pies why not try something a little different. Our traditional game and rabbit pies are delicious and proving to be very popular.
We also stock mini pork pies which are ideal for picnics, parties or as a light snack.
Welbeck Farm Shop is situated 6 miles from Worksop in Nottinghamshire on the Welbeck Estate. The shop opened in October 2006 and specialises in meat and game sourced from the Estate as well as cheeses such as Stichelton and Lincolnshire Poacher. Fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables plus the very best organic foods are always in stock.
